April 18 is John Carroll University’s Day of Giving, and this year the Tim Russert Department of Communication is raising funds to support professional development opportunities for communication majors as well as students involved in WJCU, The Carroll News, JCU Studios, and PRSSA. The Russert Department provides an excellent education for John Carroll students interested in careers in radio, journalism, public relations, and social media.

To celebrate WJCU’s 55th anniversary, the station is launching the WJCU Hall of Fame to honor station members and alumni who have made outstanding contributions to WJCU and/or a communications career field. All station alumni and listeners are welcome to nominate someone they think should be a part of the inaugural class!

December 1st, 2023 marked the much-awaited return of WJCU 88.7 FM’s ‘Blizzard Bash’ to the Cleveland area at the Beachland Tavern. The highly anticipated charity concert, after a four-year hiatus, brought together music lovers and local supporters of The Hunger Network for an unforgettable evening.

December 1st, 2023 at 7 PM will see the return of WJCU’s Blizzard Bash to the Beachland Tavern!. This charity concert returns in person after a 4-year hiatus. All proceeds from this year’s Blizzard Bash benefit Cuyahoga County’s largest emergency food provider, the Hunger Network.
